Lori Gross, founder of Thera+Kids Associates, is a Pediatric Speech and Language Pathologist. With over 25 years of clinical experience, Lori brings a unique blend of “art” and science to her practice, which is strongly rooted in early diagnosis and intervention.

Lori works with children of all ages and challenges. She has practiced in many settings including schools, hospitals and pediatric clinics. She specializes in Social-Emotional Learning/social skills, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Attention Deficit Disorder, Speech and Language Delay/Disorders, Childhood Apraxia of Speech and Early Intervention.

Lori was selected for and completed the Social Thinking® Clinical Training Program in Massachusetts. She has extensive knowledge and experience in the areas of social emotional learning, pragmatic language, and self regulation.

Lori believes that each child is unique, and has therefore sought education in a wide range of therapeutic interventions. She stays up to date on new research and clinical approaches. Lori is the recipient of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association ACE award, in continuing education. She is dedicated to professional development and learning.

Lori recognizes that family involvement plays a critical role in positive therapeutic outcomes. She collaborates closely with parents, teachers and other professionals.

Lori brings a playfulness to her therapy sessions. She makes therapy fun and engaging while boosting skills along the way!

Lori is Hanen® certified in It Takes Two to Talk and More than Words, a program for children with Social Communication Difficulties and Autism Spectrum Disorder. She has advanced training in Social Thinking®, Zones of Regulation®, DIR® Floortime (play and relationship-based therapy), ABLC (Affect Based Language Curriculum) and the SCERTS model (Social Communication, Emotional Regulation and Transactional Support) designed for children on the Autism Spectrum. Lori has also been educated in the Kaufmann speech-language treatment approach to address Childhood Apraxia of Speech and expressive language challenges.

Lori is a member of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and holds a Certificate of Clinical Competence. In addition to her extensive clinical experience and training, Lori has co-presented to teacher and parent groups on a variety of topics including: Autism: How Teachers Can Assist in the Identification and Intervention Process and The Importance of Play in the Classroom.

Lori is deeply committed to the families with whom she works—she hopes to inspire and support her clients as they grow, develop and make connections through language, play, and social learning.
