Cooking Groups

Is your child a picky eater? Does your child struggle with fine motor tasks or have sensory processing issues? Does your child have difficulty developing and following group plans and/or interacting with peers?

In collaboration with chef and restaurateur, Monica Pope, Thera+Kids offers individual, family and co-treatment groups (with Lori Gross). These sessions will provide opportunities to develop and support your child’s social emotional competencies, executive functioning, listening skills, sensory processing, self-modulation, motor skills and expanding eating preferences. Field trips are also offered to local farmers’ markets, farms and restaurants.

Cooking is an engaging and motivating activity that can address:

• Social emotional learning
• Following directions and verbal expression
• Written expression
• Sensory processing
• Fine motor skills
• Organization/executive functioning
• Group planning and participation
