What Is Acquired Brain Injury?
Acquired brain injury is a term that refers to damage to the brain that occurs after birth from a traumatic or non-traumatic event.
Traumatic Brain Injury: Damage to the brain caused by a traumatic event such as hit to the head, car accident, sports related injury etc.
Non-Traumatic Brain Injury: Damage to the brain caused by a non-traumatic event such as illness, infection, tumours, lack of oxygen and stroke etc.
